Hi y’all. So I phối out to lớn purchase two red lippies for work. I had previously been employed to bởi vì brand promotions for the new Westfield Mall and part of the uniform was a classic red lip. I thought it was a great excuse khổng lồ go red lipstick hunting, & the KVD Studded Kiss was amongst one of the three lippies that I’d bought.

Unfortunately, as you can see from my star rating, it is also the first that I ruled out as “the one” that I would be wearing to lớn work. I’m not too sure what possessed me – It looked like a good idea at the time.
First, can I just take this moment to lớn freak out about how cheap KVD lippies are on Sephora? They’re all $20 each. Were they always this cheap or has there been some drastic price slash as a response to lớn the backlash that KVD’s been getting lately? I know Buzzfeed’s not the best source khổng lồ quote for these things but in this case, the article accurately sums up most of what people have been saying – that founder Kat von D is a Nazi empathiser and anti-vaxxer. I haven’t been keeping up with the whole thing và I know it was probably condemnable of me to tư vấn her even after hearing of what she’s been getting up to, but honestly? The quality of her products is too great & at that price point? I mean, cut me a break. Anyway, I had quite a bad experience this time so I think I’ll be staying away for a while.
Do you guys remember when I was sent in a sample of 3 (or was it 4?) KVD lipsticks và I was super pleased with how they turned out? The formula was very buttery, smooth & made my lips look hydrated. I really lượt thích the packaging as it looks quite different from your typical lipstick & looks cool when you re-apply during the day. However, all of my positive comments pretty much end here.

The colour looks gorgeous from the photo và when you see it in the tube, but it’s a whole different story once it’s applied. Application is quite difficult as the sản phẩm piles on your lips & kinda flakes. It makes your lips look very dry và uneven. However, one thing that is good about the application experience is that the sharp over is good for defining the shape of your lip.
BEHOLD the driest looking butthole lips the world has ever laid their eyes upon. If I hadn’t pulled my lips into a tight smile, you would think that you were looking at the lips of a 90 year old woman who has gone senile và has decided to lớn lather her lips with a crusty SHINY metallic BRIGHT RED lipstick for god knows why.
I tried absolutely everything I could with the lighting & posing lớn make the hàng hóa look acceptable but even still, you can see how the last tiny bit of moisture left in my lifeless lips are being sucked out by this product.
I apologise for being overly dramatic – perhaps this is just not my colour và perhaps there is actually somebody in the world that, to lớn my amazement & disbelief, can actually pull this off.
